Over two centuries in the making, Tyler Arboretum is a gorgeous expanse of pristine woodlands, wildflower meadows, winding stream valleys, butterfly-filled gardens, and historic buildings nestled into the green rolling hills just west of Philadelphia.

While “arboretum” is usually understood to be “a botanical garden devoted to trees,” Tyler Arboretum in much more. Nearly two centuries in the making, it operates today as a nonprofit public garden dedicated to preserving, enhancing, and sharing its heritage, history, collections, and landscapes—a place that inspires an appreciation of nature and encourages environmental stewardship. 

Tyler Arboretum’s broad programming spans environmental education, historic preservation, horticulture, and outdoor recreation. Open year-round, it hosts numerous seasonal events and activities including the renowned treehouse and Butterfuly House exhibits, a meadow maze, hands on nature workshops and tours, horticultural exhibits, plant sales, and more. It is a delightful, beautiful place dedicated to reconnecting people with the natural world.
